‘What an idiot’ – Mark Waugh on-air after Kjorn Ottley gifts his wicket to Australia

Former Australia cricketer Mark Vaugh criticized West Indies opener Kjorn Ottley during the third and final ODI held at the Manuka Oval in Griffith on February 6. Notably, Australia won the final ODI by eight wickets and completed a 3-0 whitewash in the series.

After opting to bowl first, Australia bundled out West Indies for a paltry 86 in 24.1 overs. Xavier Bartlett was the pick of bowlers as he picked up 4/21. The hosts then chased down the target in 6.5 overs, courtesy of wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis’ unbeaten 35 off 16 balls.

The match has appeared as a one-sided affair and Shai Hope and Co. received massive criticism for their terrible performance against the World Champions. Waugh, who was the commentator during the game, particularly lambasted Ottley, who could score only eight off seven deliveries. He was the first victim of Bartlett and the way he was dismissed made the Aussie legend furious as he called him an ‘idiot’.
