RCB vs PBKS: Virat Kohli first Indian to prestigious record after Half-Century in IPL 2024 Match

Virat Kohli notched up a stellar record after his half-century against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024 on Monday (March 25).

The RCB batter has been an excellent performer for the franchise over the years which continued with yet another fantastic performance. He scored an excellent 77 off 49 balls as RCB won their first match of the season.

As Kohli scored his fifty, the RCB supremo also touched a monumental mark in his T20 career. Kohli, in his decorated career, now has scored his 100th 50+ score in T20s across all competitions.

The India batter got to his 92nd fifty and he has 8 T20 centuries as well. Out of them, Kohli has scored 52 fifties and seven centuries for RCB, while 37 fifties and one century have come while wearing the India colours. The 35-year-old also scored a fifty in a domestic T20 competition.

Kohli is also only the third batter in history to score 50+ runs in T20 more in three-figure instances, and the first Indian to do so. Only David Warner (109) and Chris Gayle (110) are ahead of him at the moment.

In T20 career, the RCB star has so far scored 12092 runs and has a strike rate of more than 133. Kohli is one of the few players to play all of the IPL seasons so far, and he also boasts with the most runs in the competition. He has hit 374 fours and 174 sixes in T20 cricket with his highest score being an unbeaten 122 for India.
