What happened in the WPL 2024 final between RCB and DC?

RCB clinched their maiden WPL title in a historic victory against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The final was a showcase of exceptional cricket, particularly from RCB’s side, as they dominated the match to win by eight wickets.

A pivotal moment came from Sophie Molineux, who delivered an outstanding performance by taking three crucial wickets in a single over, significantly denting the Capitals’ batting lineup.

This led to Delhi Capitals being all out for 113 runs in 18.3 overs. RCB’s chase was anchored by solid innings from Ellyse Perry, who was the tournament’s leading run-scorer, alongside contributions from Sophie Devine and Smriti Mandhana.

RCB reached their target in 19.3 overs, marking a significant achievement for the team and its supporters, celebrating their first-ever title in the league’s history.

The men’s team will be starting their IPL 2024 campaign on day one of this year’s tournament. The Faf du Plessis-led side will be traveling to Chennai to take on MS Dhoni and CSK at the iconic Chepauk stadium.

The RCB men’s team will be playing a total of 5 matches during the initial phase of the IPL 2024 season.
