PCB Wants India’s ‘Participation Assurance’ For Champions Trophy 2025 At Top ICC Meet In Dubai

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi will seek assurance from the BCCI over their participation in next year’s Champions Trophy in Pakistan during the upcoming ICC Meeting in Dubai.

The two neighbouring board officials will meet in the ICC Executive board meeting in Dubai and Naqvi plans to take assurance from the Indian board and the ICC top officials for next year’s marquee event in the country. According to the PTI report, the BCCI will not commit travelling to Pakistan for now, almost one year before the tournament.

While Champions Trophy is an ICC tournament and with every other cricketing nation travelling to Pakistan, the BCCI will not entirely close its door but any clearance from the government of India will not come at least weeks before the tournament commences.

“The biggest worry for the PCB is whether India will send its team to Pakistan and there is no repeat of last year’s Asia Cup issues,” a PCB source said, citing the ‘Hybrid Model’ that was used last year.
