Over in 186 balls! Australia blow away West Indies in 3rd ODI to set new record at home

New Delhi: Australia hammered West Indies by eight wickets in the 3rd ODI on Tuesday to clean sweep the visitors 3-0 in the three-match series and set a new record at home.

The hosts were at their dominant best in the third and final ODI, producing a stellar all-round effort to dismantle the visitors and record a third straight victory.

Australia skipper Steve Smith invited West Indies to bat first after winning the toss at the Manuka Oval. The decision turned out to be a masterstroke as the hosts suffered a terrible batting collapse. Aussie bowlers dominated the proceedings as West Indies were skittled out for a paltry total of 86 runs with pacer Xavier Bartlett taking a 4-wicket haul.

Bartlett drew the first blood for Australia in the game by removing opener Kjor Ottley cheaply on 8 before running through the middle order with the wickets of Roston Chase and Romario Shepherd to finish with excellent figures of 4/21 in his 7.1 overs. He was brilliantly supported by young pacer Lance Morris and spinner Adam Zampa, who picked up two wickets apiece.
