MS Dhoni Will Play One More Season After IPL 2024 At CSK, Reckons Childhood Friend Paramjit Singh

MS Dhoni can play one more season of the Indian Premier League after the 2024 edition, purely based on his fitness, revealed childhood friend Paramjit Singh.

There has been a debate for the past couple of years regarding Dhoni’s retirement from cricket. The former India skipper is currently in Jamnagar attending the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

Having led CSK since its inception in 2008, Dhoni is an emotion to Chennai Super Kings fans. But every human body has a time limit. Dhoni’s fitness and his decision not to play domestic cricket after international cricket retirement are the two most important factors that keep him running even at 42.

In an interview, Paramjit was asked about Dhoni’s future in IPL, to which he replied, “I don’t think this (IPL 2024) will be his last season. He is still fit and can easily play one or two more seasons.”

For the unknown, Paramjit owns a sports accessories shop in Ranchi named Prime Sports. The two-time World Cup-winning skipper recently sported the sticker of Prime Sports in his bat. It is understood that Dhoni is likely to use the logo of Prime Sports in IPL 2024 as well.

Earlier, after last year’s IPL final, Dhoni had stated that he would play one more year. “The easy thing would be for me to say “Thank you very much”, but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another 9 months and come back and play at least 1 more season of IPL,” he had stated after guiding CSK to fifth IPL title.

“A lot depends on the body. It will be more like a gift from my side, it’s not easy for me but that’s a gift. The way they’ve shown their love and affection, I think that’s something I need to do for them.”
