Mohun Bagan: Which Mariners’ players are set to miss Hyderabad FC match?

As the second half of the ISL 2023-24 began at the turn of this month, Mohun Bagan were set to come back with their full strength. However, Brendan Hamill and Anwar Ali sustained new injuries during the Kolkata derby.

Adding that to the pile of old injuries and card suspensions, the Mariners are now set to be at least without five players in their next match. This can cause problems for the team at this crucial time.

They are sitting in 5th position in the Indian Super League table and looking for ways to get to the top of the table. However, it could become tough in the absence of two key players – Brendan Hamill and Anwar Ali in the backline.

Anwar Ali had been out with an ankle injury since the start of November. After staying out for three months, the Kolkata derby was his first match where he sustained a new injury. As per AajTak Bangla reports, he could be out for another three weeks.

The same could be said for Brendan Hamill who could also take three weeks to recover.

Along with these two, Liston Colaco, Armando Sadiku, and Deepak Tangri will also be unavailable for their next match against Hyderabad FC. Liston Colaco is still serving a 4-match suspension which was imposed on him by the All India Football Federation.

He has already missed three matches for the Mariners so far against FC Goa, Kerala Blasters, and East Bengal. He will serve out his last suspension against Hyderabad FC. Both Sadiku and Tangri will also be missing the match with card suspensions.

Mohun Bagan were playing without a large number of key players before the international break due to injuries. It affected their game as they lost three consecutive games. With more similar cases to follow, the Mariners will look to avoid losing any more games.
