IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant may have to skip IPL for This Reason, DC in Trouble

Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was set to make his return to the IPL in the upcoming edition, but latest reports suggest he may have an issue with that.

The Delhi Capitals star didn’t participate last season due to his accident and has been out of competitive cricket for 15 months now. With a potential IPL return on the cards, Pant is working on his fitness and is said to be almost fit to take part.

But as per a report from Dainik Bhaskar, the player hasn’t received a green signal from NCA as the experts there feel that Pant still needs time to be fully ready. Delhi Capitals haven’t added him to the squad but may request IPL to add him as an extra player.

Pant had multiple surgeries after his accident at the flag end of year 2022 when he was returning to his home in Uttarakhand from Delhi.

There were rumors that Pant would take part as an impact player for the Capitals this season. It is clear that he would not be keeping wickets, which was confirmed by DC’s Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly.

Now the question remains whether the dashing batter would be wearing the Capitals’ kit at all in this season. It would come as a blow for them, who would have loved to keep Pant in the squad for this edition of the tournament.
