The IPL 2024 opening ceremony will take place moments before the CSK vs RCB match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. As per the IPL post on X, the ceremony will start at 6:30 PM IST, an hour and half before the scheduled start time of the match.
Usually the IPL 2024 matches start at 7:30 PM IST, but due to the opening ceremony starting at 6:30 PM IST, the opening match between CSK and RCB will start at 8 PM IST with the toss taking place at 7:30 PM.
Who is performing at the IPL 2024 opening ceremony?
IPL 2024 Opening ceremony performers list: As per the IPL post on X, Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, who was also part of the WPL opening ceremony in February, will be performing alongside music legends AR Rahman and Sonu Nigam.
AR Rahman had also performed during the IPL 2022 closing ceremony at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals to clinch the title in their maiden appearance.
