IPL 2024: Klaasen, Abhishek impress ‘new coach’ Vettori in SRH training

SunRisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori joined the training camp, just a week away from the tournament.

Vettori, one of the assistant coaches in the Australian team will be linking up with Travis Head and Pat Cummins, two of the main players of the Hyderabad-based franchise.

Vettori attended his first practice session with the SRH and was left impressed with two batters in particular. In a video uploaded by the franchise, Vettori spoke highly about the team’s middle order and said that there was considerable experience there. Vettori said that he was impressed by Punjab’s Abhishek Sharma and South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen, who hit some massive sixes in the nets.

“It was nice to see the boys out here. Particularly in the middle, I think having that experience makes a lot of difference. Both (Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma) are very impressive. I have seen Klaasen over the years, but to see Abhishek for the first time up close – he was able to dominate – I think few of the biggest sixes hit on the day were by him. There are a lot of players that I am going to get to know up close. There is a lot of talent in the side,” Vettori said after his first practice session with SRH.
