Hardik Pandya replaced veteran opener Rohit as MI captain following his surprise move from Gujarat Titans (GT) to Mumbai before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction.
Hardik was appointed Rohit’s replacement for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league after his profitable trade to Mumbai. MI captain Pandya stated that his decision to leave the Gujarat Titans and replace Rohit as captain of the Mumbai Indians irritated some IPL fans. However, Pandya stated unequivocally that MI superstar Rohit will continue to guide the former GT skipper in the IPL 2024.
On Wednesday, Pandya made a kind gesture while preparing for the IPL 2024 at the legendary Wankhede Stadium. In a video uploaded on Instagram by the Mumbai Indians, all-rounder Pandya was seen reaching out to Rohit in their first encounter since the surprising captaincy transfer at the MI camp. The wonderful conversation between Rohit and Hardik also put an end to reports of a split between the franchise’s two superstars.
