The craze for tickets for the blockbuster Indian Premier League 2024 opener between Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore has hit an all-new high.
Not just the fans, but India’s veteran off-spinner and former CSK player, Ravichandran Ashwin, has also been struggling to get his hands on the tickets for the game.
The sale of the CSK vs RCB tickets went live on March 18, Monday, sharp at 9:10 am. However, many fans expressed disappointment over not being able to get hold of the tickets. Ashwin also took to ‘X’ and opened up on the unreal demand for the match tickets for CSK vs RCB. Ashwin mentioned that his kids wanted to attend t.he opening ceremony as well as the game, and in a light-hearted manner, requested the CSK team to help with the match tickets.

The CSK franchise will look to pay back all the contributions Ashwin has made to the team in his 7-year-long stint. He picked up 70 wickets for the team from 2008 to 2015. After that, he represented the Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, followed by the Rajasthan Royals. Ashwin was recently facilitated by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association for his twin milestones of 100 Test matches and 500 wickets.
CSK opted for online sale of tickets this year to provide a hassle-free experience for the fans. However, the fans were left frustrated as there were long virtual queues amid technical glitches. While, many fans were over the moon and expressed their happiness over getting the match tickets.
Ahead of the big-ticket clash between CSK and RCB, IPL 2024 will have a glitzy opening ceremony on Friday. The much-anticipated clash will witness MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli up against each other. The players from both franchises have been practising hard in the nets.
While, Dhoni looked confident in dealing with sixes during the practice session. Kohli joined the RCB team on March 18, Monday ahead of the season.
