India vs England: Jasprit Bumrah’s 6/45 wrecks Ben Stokes and Co, puts hosts in pole position on Day 2 at Vizag

Jasprit Bumrah registered his career-best Test haul at home, returning figures of 6/45 that helped India collect a sizeable first innings lead and seize control of the Visakhapatnam Test on Saturday.

Bumrah’s six-for, which helped him become the quickest Indian pacer to 150 Test wickets, resulted in India bowling England out for 253 after posting 396 on the board on Day 2 of the second Test.

Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (15 not out) and Rohit Sharma (13 not out) then got the hosts off to a quick start in their second innings, with India racing to 28 for no loss after five overs at close of play to put the Ben Stokes-led English team under further pressure. At stumps, India’s lead had swelled to 171 from 143, putting the Indians in pole position heading into the third day.
