The latest ICC Men’s ODI rankings have witnessed a seismic shift, underscoring the ever-evolving nature of international cricket. Among the most notable changes is the ascension of 37-year-old Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who has surged to the third position, a testament to his enduring prowess and consistent performance.

With consecutive half-centuries in the first two ODIs, Sharma has set the stage for a thrilling third ODI, which is set for Wednesday, August 7. His exceptional form has propelled him from fourth to third position, now boasting 763 points.

Babar Azam dominates the top spot

At the top of the rankings, Pakistan‘s cricket star Babar Azam maintains his stronghold in the first position with 824 points. Indian cricket sensation Shubman Gill holds steady in second place with 782 points despite a lackluster performance in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, where he scored just 51 runs across the two matches.

Meanwhile, Indian veteran cricketer Virat Kohli has slipped from third to fourth place with 752 points. Ireland‘s Harry Tector has also experienced a drop, moving from fourth to fifth position with 746 points.

Other significant shifts in the rankings include England‘s David Malan, who has climbed from ninth to eighth position with 707 points. On the other hand, Sri Lankan cricket star Pathum Nissanka has slipped from eighth to ninth place with 705 points, despite his half-century in the first ODI against India.
