Babar Azam to Naseem Shah: Pakistan cricket team’s sold and unsold players in The Hundred 2024 Draft

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were among the key Pakistan players to go unsold at The Hundred draft at the Shard in London on Wednesday.

Babar, Rizwan and Pakistan’s T20I captain Shaheen Afridi had registered for the draft at the last moment.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi was picked again by Welsh Fire for £100,000. He played six matches for them last year and picked six wickets at an economy rate of 7.56, and an average of 16.66.

 

Imad Wasim, who picked a five-wicket haul for Islamabad United (IU), also returned to Trent Rockets for £100,000 and star pacer Naseem Shah was picked by Birmingham Phoenix for £125,000.

Other notable Pakistan stars – Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Amir were not picked by any of the franchises.

Among other big international names, Jason Roy, Tim David, David Warner, and Shakib Al Hasan were not picked. West Indies players were in demand at The Hundred 2024 draft.

Andre Russell and Shimron Hetmyer will play for London Spirit, Kieron Pollard has joined Southern Brave and Rovman Powell was a top pick at Trent Rockets. Northern Superchargers picked hard-hitting southpaw Nicholas Pooran as the first signing of the draft.
