India are currently taking on England in the second Test of the five-match series at the DR YS Rajasekara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

As England chase 399 to win on Day 4 of the match, it looks like th Rohit Sharma-led team have suffered yet another blow, adding to the already long list of injured player- this time in the form of Shubman Gill, as he did not take the field as the day’s play began.

According to a report by PTI, the Indian team management has informed that Shubman Gill will not take the field on Day 4 of the second Test. This is because he suffered a knock to his index finger while fielding during Day 2 of the Test match

“Shubman Gill hurt his right index finger while fielding on Day 2. He won’t be taking the field today,” the Indian team management said, as quoted by PTI.

India already have a long injury list. Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul were ruled out due to injury from te second Test after suffering twin hamstring injuries. According to a report by Cricbuzz, Jadeja’s injury is quite serious and he might not return for the third Test as well. Mohammed Shami also did not feature in the first two matches due to an iankle injury and will likely miss out the rest of the series as well according to a Cricbuzz report.
