PSL Match Result: The PSL 2024 Match 28 between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars finished with a win for Quetta Gladiators over Lahore Qalandars by six wickets at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday evening (March 10).

Quetta Gladiators become the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs.

Another last-ball defeat for Lahore Qalandars, as Quetta Gladiators won by six wickets. We’ve got all four qualifiers as Islamabad booked a playoff berth after a thrilling last-ball finish in the afternoon game, and now it’s Quetta. Shakeel (88 not out of 65 balls) took time to get going but redeemed himself by taking his team over the line and grabbing Player of the Match award.

Lahore’s bowlers did well to take the game to last ball with Afridi (2/41) and Jahandad (2/30) brilliant spells. Quetta left it right till the end, despite having so many wickets in hand. Shafique (59 off 39 balls) and Shaheen (55 off 34 balls) were the highest scorer for the Qalandars.

After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars decided to set the target for Quetta Gladiators. The start didn’t go according to the plan for Lahore and ended up 39-2 after the powerplay. Abrar (2/31) was the one who took out both the openers (Farhan and Baig) in the same over. Shai Hope fell early to Wasim and the Lahore Qalandars were 70/3 at the halfway stage.

Then Shaheen Afridi came out to bat as he promoted himself to No. 5 but struggled for timing initially against the quicks. He was on 15 off 14 balls early on but managed to up the ante as he took on Akeal and Abrar to bring up a fifty. At the other end, Shafique scored his second fifty on the trot. Nevertheless, Wasim and Amir bowled really well in the death and conceded just 12 runs off the final two overs as Lahore finished putting up a total of 166-4 (20 overs).

Quetta Gladiators started the chase cautiously, given their past experiences and made 43-1 after the powerplay. After losing Rossouw to Jahandad, Shakeel and Nafay took a lot of balls to get going. However, Shakeel redeemed himself with some crucial blows when 29 was needed off the last two overs. Shakeel was helped by Laurie Evans and Mohammad Wasim who hit the winning six off the last delivery
