There were several performances that stood out from the recently concluded five-game Test series between India and England.
From Sarfaraz Khan’s performances in his first series to youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal dominating England’s bowling attack, one performance that also caught the eye of the fans was that of Dhruv Jurel.
The 23-year-old made his Test debut in the series against England and scored 190 runs in the three games that he played in. His performances impressed former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra.
Aakash Chopra recently came forward to highlight the importance of the knock that Jurel played in Ranchi. Jurel scored 90 runs in 149 deliveries in Ranchi and helped India get back in the fourth Test. The hosts eventually managed to win the game and take a 3-1 lead in the series.
In a video on his channel, Aakash Chopra picked the five best performances from the India-England series and chose Jurel’s knock as one of them.
“At No. 5, I have got Dhruv Jurel. The knock he played in Ranchi, if that 90-run knock had not come, you would have been standing at 2-2. If you were at 2-2, no one knows what might have happened in Dharamsala,” Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“Dhruv Jurel batted with the tail, played fast bowling well, and hit many big shots too. His contribution in the second innings was also extremely crucial. So I have kept Dhruv Jurel’s amazing Player of the Match performance at No. 5,” he added.
