The Delhi Traffic Police announced that in view of the Tata Women’s Premier League-2024 (WPL) scheduled from March 5 to 13, and on March 15 and 17, at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, traffic diversions/restrictions will be in place in some areas of the city.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the DTP said, “The cricket matches of Tata Women’s Premier League -2024 (WPL) are scheduled from 05th March 2024 to 13th March, 15th March and 17th March 2024 at Arun Jaitely Stadium, Delhi. For the convenience of general public and security reason, certain traffic restrictions are imposed in and around the stadium.”
Delhi: Traffic diversion/restriction near Arun Jaitely Stadium
The DTP informed that traffic diversions/restrictions will be in place on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg. No heavy vehicles and buses will be allowed on the roads – from Daryaganj to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road.
The traffic police advised commuters to avoid the following roads between 4:30 pm to 12 midnight on the days of matches when the spectators would be coming to the stadium and congestion is expected:
- Rajghat to JLN Marg
- JLN Marg from Roundabout Kamla Market to Rajghat
- Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi gate
- Bahadurshah Zafar Marg from Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk to Delhi gate
Parking facility
- Limited parking is available for labeled vehicles in the proximity of the stadium. Display of car parking label on windscreen is mandatory. Vehicle number must be written on parking label. The vehicles without valid parking label shall not be allowed in the proximity of the Stadium.
- Car parking label holders are advised to take Ring Road, JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road or Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (“U” turn at Delhi Gate is allowed). Entry to parking lots P1, P3 and P4 shall be from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg only (near the petrol Pump).
- No vehicles shall be allowed to be parked on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg and Ring Road from Rajghat to I.P. Flyover (Both the carriageways) on the match days. Vehicles parked on these roads shall be towed away and prosecuted as per law.
