KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir leaves Politics, quits BJP for this reason!

Former cricketer and serving Member of Parliament from Delhi, Gautam Gambhir, has made a formal request to BJP President JP Nadda to be relieved of his political duties.

The former India player expressed his appreciation towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the opportunity to contribute to public service. His decision is aimed at striking a balance between his political and cricketing careers.

Gautambhir’s political journey began in March 2019 when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His political career quickly took off as he became a key figure in the party’s Delhi unit. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from the East Delhi constituency and won by an impressive margin of 695,109 votes. This victory cemented his status as a significant political figure within the national capital.

The former cricketer’s move to step back from politics to focus on cricket underscores his commitment to both his passions. It remains to be seen how this decision will influence his future endeavors in both fields.

He is immediately set to hone the role of the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024. The former KKR player always has been a straightforward person who calls a spade a spade. And now Gambhir leaving politics to focus more on his role as a cricket mentor and beyond is as refreshing as it can be.
