R Ashwin’s 100th Test: From 9 Player-Of-The-Match awards to 50 wickets in calendar year, here are 5 records off-spinner holds

Ravichandran Ashwin is arguably one of the greats in the modern game. Not only he is a tricky customer with the ball but a reliable lower-order bat who has pulled India out of jail many times in the past.

The Tweaker has been part of many memorable wins for India and also has played a crucial part in many of them.

Let us have a look at the records and milestones he has achieved on his way to the 100th Test match in Dharamshala

50 wickets in a calendar year

Ashwin has picked up 50 or more wickets in a calendar year four times which is on more occasions than any other bowler who played for the country.

2021-54 wickets
2017-56 wickets
2016-72 wickets
2015-62 wickets

Scoring a 100 and taking a 5-wicket haul in the match

Ashwin is the only Indian to score a ton and pick a five-wicket haul thrice in his career and is not far behind his spin twin Ravindra Jadeja who has achieved the same feat twice.

2021-Against England 106 runs and 5/43 with the ball in Chennai
2016-Against West Indies 113 runs and 7/83 with the ball in Antigua
2011-Against West Indies 103 runs and 5/156 with the ball in Mumbai

Most number of five-wicket and ten-wicket haul
