ONE Friday Fights 50: Komawut Edges Out Yodphupa, Panrit Punishes Kongklai

ONE Friday Fights showcased its 50th installment on 2 February, and the action didn’t disappoint inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Boxing Stadium as more titans of MMA and Muay Thai put it all on the line for a potential six-figure contract with ONE Championship.

The main event saw Komawut FA Group take on Yodphupa Wimanair in a razor-close outing across three rounds, with the pair going blow-for-blow as the former took home the split decision in 147.2-pound catchweight Muay Thai.

The opening frame portrayed a tentative contest as the elite strikers tried to figure one another out. But in the midst of a closely fought encounter, Komawut’s willingness to enter the fray swayed the contest in his favor.

Yodphupa fought his way back into the bout in the middle frame, showing the aggression that made him the Road to ONE: Thailand winner. But as the final round began, Komawut’s counters allowed him to edge forward on the scorecards to take home the split-decision win.
