Pakistan (PAK) will take on Australia (AUS) in the second semi-final of the ongoing ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. Both the sides are unbeaten so far and while Saad Baig’s Pakistan under 19 team got their place in the last four by finishing as runners-up in Super Six Group 1, Hugh Weibgen’s Australia made it to the knockout stage as winners of Group 2.
Hence, the stage is set for the two sides who have been in sublime form and will lock horns against one another in a stiff encounter to advance through to the final. Notably, the winner of the second semifinal will meet Team India in the final. Speaking of the ‘Green Shirts’, the side has remained quite consistent and dominated their group stage encounters against Afghanistan, Nepal, and New Zealand. They continued their run against Ireland and Bangladesh but were given a scare by Bangladesh in their last match.
On the other hand, Australia topped their group with three consecutive wins against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, respectively. Thereafter, the ‘Men in Yellow’ trumped England by 110 runs in the Super Six stage to seal their place in the semi-final with a no result over West Indies.
