East Bengal could be on their way to extend Carles Cuadrat’s contract

Spanish coach Carles Cuadrat came to East Bengal at the start of the ISL 2023-24 season. He has had an amazing start to his first season at the club.

East Bengal could be on their way to give coach Cuadrat a lengthy 3-year contract extension to keep him. The coach was already talking about signing two new players for the next season before the Kolkata derby.

This already somewhat confirmed that the Red and Gold Brigade management was happy with the coach and are willing to provide him with the players he will be requesting. He has already brought along Victor Vazquez who trained at the Barcelona academy with Lionel Messi.

Vazquez is showing his determination as he only took a day to rest. He then joined the junior team to start his training session even though the senior team was on their off-day. With coach Cuadrat’s guidance, Vazquez could help East Bengal improve.

Especially when they lost Borja Herrera to FC Goa and Javier Siverio to Jamshedpur FC on loan during this winter transfer window. With both players in their midst, the coach was able to move mountains since the first day he arrived at the club.

He helped the Red and Gold Brigade reach the Durand Cup final within months of his arrival. They couldn’t win the final match which was the Kolkata derby. However, they won the previous Kolkata derby in the same Durand Cup tournament.
