ISL 2024-25 to begin on Sep 14, AIFF unveils Indian football’s next season’s calendar

New Delhi: The 2024-25 edition of the top-flight Indian Super League will be held from September 14 to April 30, 2025, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced on Tuesday while unveiling Indian football’s calendar for next season.

The domestic season will kick-off with Asia’s oldest tournament Durand Cup from July 26, which will conclude on August 31. The second division I-League will run from October 19-April 30 while the annual cup competition will be held simultaneously with these leagues from October 1 to May 15.

The AIFF has decided to end all its senior domestic engagements by April next year, for players to escape the suffocating heat and humid conditions.

I-League 3 will be held from August 1 to September 30, which will be used as a qualifier for I-League 2 that will be staged January 15 to April 30.

The prestigious Santosh Trophy’s group stage will be organised from November 5-15 with the final round commencing on December 1 and stretching till Dec 15.

Women’s football

The top tier Indian Women’s League will begin on October 25 and end on April 30. The tournament’s second division (IWL 2) will will be organised in a January 25 to April 30 window.

The group stage of the senior women’s national football championship will take place in September, followed by its final round in October.

The national age-specific tournaments will start rolling with the junior boys and junior girls national football championship tier 1 and tier 2 in July followed by the sub-junior boys and sub-junior girls national football championship tier 1 and tier 2 in August.
