Glenn Maxwell seen imitating Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis in viral video, Dinesh Karthik impressed

Glenn Maxwell was seen imitating Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis during the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) net session. The video shared by the official Twitter handles of the franchise has gone viral.

In the video, the Australian all-rounder can be first seen copying the stance of RCB captain Faf du Plessis, before copying the mannerism of Virat Kohli. Maxwell got behind the nets when Kohli was batting, and shadow practised his strokes.

Maxwell did not only imitate Kohli and du Plessis but also pretended to collect the balls like a wicketkeeper as the former batted in the nets. Mohammed Siraj acted as a slip fielder. Dinesh Karthik was in splits as Maxwell imitated du Plessis during his own net session in Chennai.

After attending the RCB Unbox event at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday (March 19), the players left for Chennai through a charter flight the same night. RCB will be locking horns against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024 opener at Chepauk on Friday, March 22.

RCB men’s team is eyeing their maiden IPL trophy after the women’s team clinched the WPL title after beating Delhi Capitals in the second edition of the tournament. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been in three IPL finals but lost each time.

RCB have managed to win just one IPL match against CSK at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai. The slow nature of the Chennai pitch has also not allowed someone like Virat Kohli to score freely. RCB would hope to have a good outing at the venue in their series opener.

Apart from big names like Kohli, Maxwell, du Plessis, Dinesh Karthik and Mohammed Siraj, the likes of cameron Green, Will Jacks, Alzarri Joseph, Reece Topley, Lockie Ferguson, Rajat Patidar and others are expected to play key role for RCB in the IPL 2024 season.
