IPL 2024: Full List Of Players Missing Tournament Due To Injuries, Unavailability And Their Replacements

IPL 2024: The IPL 2024 is all set to kick off on March 22 with the first match scheduled to be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

All the teams have started their preparations for the 17th edition of the tournament as fans wait to witness the enormous action in the country’s grandest festival.

Amidst all the preparations, practice sessions, and action in the pre-season camps, there will be something that is going to be missed with a number of players already out injured or have pulled out due to personal reasons.

Following are the list of unavailable players in the IPL 2024 and their replacements:

Gujarat Titans

Mohammed Shami, last year’s leading wicket-taker, has been ruled out of the IPL 2024 due to an ankle injury that he sustained during the ODI World Cup last year.

He underwent surgery in London and will remain out of action both for his IPL side and the Indian team for a while.

The Titans haven’t announced any replacement for Shami.

Matthew Wade is set to miss the team’s first match on March 25 and could likely be missing the second match as well due to his participation in the Sheffield Shield final for Tasmania.

Lucknow Super Giants

Mark Wood opted to withdraw from the IPL 2024 in order to manage his workload ahead of the T20 World Cup and England’s home summer.

LSG named West Indies’ star pacer Shamar Joseph as his replacement for INR 3 crore.

Rajasthan Royals

India’s Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the IPL 2024 due to surgery on his quadriceps tendon.

He picked up the issue during the Ranji Trophy and the Royals haven’t named his replacement yet.

Kolkata Knight Riders

England’s Jason Roy decided to withdraw from the upcoming IPL season due to personal reasons and KKR named Phil Salt his replacement for a reserve price of Rs. 1.5 crore.

Gus Atkinson opted out of IPL 2024 to manage his workload forcing the KKR franchise to announce Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera as his replacement at a reserve price of Rs. 50 lakh.

Chennai Super Kings

The defending champions CSK will be missing the services of Devon Conway for the initial part of the tournament.

He is likely to be sidelined for eight weeks following a thumb surgery, having picked up an injury during New Zealand’s T20I series at home against Australia last month.

The MS Dhoni-led side is yet to name a replacement for Conway who was the franchise’s top run-getter last year.
